The camshaft alignment tool set is mainly used in the repair and maintenance of automotive engines, especially when replacing or adjusting camshafts. The design of these tool sets is aimed at helping technicians ensure the correct installation and alignment of camshafts, thereby ensuring the normal operation of the engine and extending its service life. The following are some specific aspects of the application of the camshaft alignment tool set:

• Ensure the correct installation direction of the camshaft: When installing the camshaft, attention should be paid to its specific direction, and usually the markings or grooves on the camshaft should align with the corresponding markings on the engine. This ensures that the cam orientation of the camshaft is correct to ensure the normal opening and closing of the valves.
• Auxiliary disassembly and installation: When using camshaft special tools, a series of operations are required, including disassembling the old camshaft, installing the special tool, installing the new camshaft, and checking and adjusting after installation to ensure optimal engine performance.
• Inspection and adjustment: After installation, it is necessary to check whether the rotation of the camshaft is smooth and whether the opening and closing of the valves are normal. If necessary, make further adjustments to ensure engine performance

1) Camshaft positioning tool: used to fix the camshaft in the correct position, usually involving aligning the markings on the camshaft with the markings on the engine cylinder head.

2) Chain tensioner and guide: used to install chain tensioner and guide, ensuring that the chain maintains appropriate tension and preventing chain jumping and loosening.

3) Timing tool: including adjustable length wrenches (such as extension bar wrenches), used to rotate the camshaft gears until the timing mark aligns with the timing mark on the gear housing cover.

4) Dismantling tools: such as screwdrivers, wrenches, etc., used to dismantle the engine hood and related coverings for accessing the camshaft chain

5) Measurement tools: such as micrometers, used to measure the lift and phase of the cam to ensure that the parameters of the cam meet the requirements.

This set is used to correctly position the camshaft and crankshaft into the side cover, compatible with the Volvo B4204 engine (8-speed gearbox), and suitable for the Volvo 2.0T S60 S60L S80 V40 V60 V70 XC60 XC70 engine.

1) The camshaft assist tool is located on the engine side and is used as shown in the following figure:

4) After the installation of the parts is completed, install the compatible engine gears, and then install the cam gear sprocket kit in sequence, as shown in the following figure:
